Joi Murugavell – Maze of Joy

Australian artist Joi Murugavell creates colorful works of art that are bold, fun and full of unique characters. She began her career as an artist after completing a Master’s degree in Art and Design at the Auckland University of Technology.

After her first solo exhibition in 2009, Joi Murugavell has been actively participating in exhibitions around the world. Recently, she has participated in the internationally renowned contemporary art fair, Affordable Art Fair, as well as Shinwa Auction, one of the largest auction houses in Japan. She has exhibited her work not only in Oceania, but also in Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Her art is often abstract, bright, biting, and humorous, with unique characters dancing on the canvas. Her characters are more than just fun and entertaining. Each character captures the beauty and pain of the human experience and the soul in flux.
